What is the Pre-Seed Start Fund (PSSF)?

Enterprise Ireland's Pre-Seed Start Fund (PSSF) is a grant program that provides early-stage start-up companies with funding to help them develop their products or services and reach key milestones.

Through the Pre-Seed Start Fund (PSSF) a company can apply for either €50,000 or €100,000 investment, in the form of a Convertible Loan Note (CLN) instrument.

Who is it for?

The Pre-Seed Start Fund (PSSF) is designed to accelerate the growth of early-stage start-up companies in Ireland that have the capacity and ambition to succeed in global markets.

It aims to support these companies in covering operational costs, developing market-ready products or solutions, conducting product testing, and building critical skill sets within their teams. The fund also helps companies reach key technical and commercial milestones required to attract future Seed Funding within 6 - 18 months.

How can an Irish BIC support me?

If you are eligible to apply for the Pre-Seed Start Fund (PSSF) your local BIC will work with you as you complete your application, providing guidance and feedback throughout the application process.

iHPSUs are start-up businesses with the potential to develop an innovative product or service for sale on international markets and the potential to create 10 jobs and €1 million in sales within 3 years of starting up.

Innovative High-Potential Start-Ups (iHPSUs) are start-up businesses with the potential to develop an innovative product or service for sale on international markets and the potential to create 10 jobs and €1 million in sales within 3 years of starting up.

Who is it for?

The Enterprise Ireland iHPSU fund supports innovative start-up businesses with the potential and ambition to expand globally. Enterprise Ireland partners with venture funds in Ireland and internationally, to enable Irish start-ups access the funding they need to reach their international potential.

How can an Irish BIC support me?

The Irish BICs work in tandem with Enterprise Ireland Client Advisors to guide you through the iHPSU application process, assisting with key elements such as the Financial Data Sheet (FDS) and Term Sheet.
They will also support you in developing a robust financial model and navigating match funding and private investment opportunities.

What is Prep4Seed?

Prep4Seed is a 12 week intensive investor-readiness programme delivered nationally by the Irish BICs on behalf of Enterprise Ireland. Selected start-ups participate in five masterclasses delivered by each of the BICs covering a broad range of areas including Sales & Marketing, Financial Modelling, Market Validation, Pitching & Investment and Company Foundation. Participating companies also receive one-to-one mentoring sessions.

Who is it for?

Prep4Seed is designed for early-stage start-ups that are seeking to become investor-ready. It is aimed at companies that are looking to refine their business strategies, improve their pitch, and prepare for investment. The programme helps start-ups build the skills and confidence needed to attract investors and successfully pitch their business.

How can an Irish BIC support me?

Companies who take part in Prep4Seed partake in tailored one-to-one meetings with their BIC Consultant after each masterclass. Participants are also brought through intensive investor pitch preparation sessions and trial pitches with their BIC.

How do I apply?

Companies are selected twice a year with input from Enterprise Ireland and the BICs. If you are interested in taking part, speak to your Client Adviser or your BIC Consultant. Participants are selected based on their potential for growth and the need for tailored support.
