BIASOL

BiaSol is a sustainable food business, founded by siblings Niamh and Ruairí Dooley. It started in 2020 as a way to combat food waste and improve nutrition. BiaSol take by-products or waste streams and turn them back into ingredients. They have launched their own retail food products, involving baking mix ranges, oat bars and granola.

They currently have 10 staff and have raised €500,000 in total to date. They want to grow the ingredient side of the business and aim to raise a further €500,000 in funding later this year to aid with its international expansion.

Co-founders Niamh and Ruairí Dooley commented “We were first introduced to WestBIC as part of an Enterprise Ireland Competitive Start Fund (now known as the Pre-Seed Start Fund) preparation webinar. The support provided by WestBIC was fantastic and we were successful in receiving the Competitive Start Fund on our 1st attempt. Since then WestBIC has continued to provide us with support in terms of investor readiness, awards and other grants/funding opportunities.”
